The Stables is like that friendly relative you visit while in town—familiar, comforting, and generally decent. Their fish and chips get a thumbs up from dad, while your mom’s scampi is just as solid. I had the lasagna, which was a big portion and surprisingly good. The staff, especially Ian, are lovely and make you feel like part of the family. The sea views are nice if you're lucky enough to grab a window seat, and the overall vibe is relaxed.

But it's not all sunshine and rainbows. One poor unlucky soul had a scampi portion that felt more like a scampi audition—five pieces for a hefty price. So, while the food shines, there’s a bit of inconsistency in the portion game. Overall, it's a safe bet for a family outing, but just be wary of what you’re ordering.
