The epitome of "does the job." Safe enough, food's fine. But let's be honest — your kitchen's probably cleaner AND tastier.
MacKenzies Cafe Bar is a classic case of 'you get what you pay for.' The highlight? Their garlic butter mushrooms that had Tara raving about them like they'd just won an award. You can order via an app, which is nifty, but don't expect Michelin-star service. Cole, the solo warrior behind the bar, gets a gold star for juggling orders while keeping a smile, but it's clear the kitchen’s timing needs a lesson or two. While some dishes like the rump steak have their moments, others (looking at you, Cajun chicken pizza) deserve a good talking to for showing up half-baked.
With mixed reviews on the food and wait times that are borderline offensive, it seems this place is great for a quick bite and a chill, but maybe not for your next date night unless you like to play 'guess when our food will arrive.'
