Clean. Reliable. Does the job.
The "lights out missionary" of food. Spotless kitchen, decent grub. Won't blow your mind, won't disappoint.
Gail's Bakery in Kensington feels like a mixed bag. On one hand, they serve a dizzying array of sandwiches, cakes, and pastries that could make a sweet tooth weep. But don’t get too excited about the outdoor seating—S Hasan’s experience with dirty tables was a bit of a dampener. While the staff, like Nicola, are friendly, the service can be a bit chaotic, with hot drinks taking their sweet time while food is hastily served. Joy and Veronica cherished their visits, but Frankee and Jude hit the brakes, pointing out overpriced offerings and lackluster service. So, is it worth the hype? Maybe if you don’t mind a dash of grime with your pastry.
If you fancy a sweet treat in a slightly messy environment, Gail’s is your gig. Just don’t be shocked if you find crumbs from a previous patron clinging to your table. This place screams “come for the cake, stay because it’s awkward to leave.”
"Tables are not very clean as food, cutlery & cups are left!!"
"Gail's is one of my favorite bakeries in London!"
"Nicola made every morning start with a smile and a wonderful matcha."
