Clean. Reliable. Does the job.
The "lights out missionary" of food. Spotless kitchen, decent grub. Won't blow your mind, won't disappoint.
Hjem Kensington is that cute café that lures you in with its cinnamon rolls and then leaves you wondering if it's all just a pretty Instagram filter. The pastries are legit, and the coffee is sourced from the hipster heavens, but the experience can be a mixed bag. It’s super cozy but also kinda cramped — like being in a friend’s living room when they really should’ve tidied up.
You’ll find friendly staff who are eager to help, but don’t expect a tranquil retreat when it’s busy. If you can snag a seat, you might enjoy a decent coffee and a good chat, assuming you can hear each other over the crowd. Overall, it’s pleasant but not quite the escape you hope for.
"The smell of the fresh pastries takes you to another world."
"They probably serve some of the best cinnamon rolls."
"Hjem means home — with its warm, Scandi-inspired decor."
