El Chico is that place you hit up for nachos and cocktails when you want to feel fancy but not too fancy. Leyiyah can't stop raving about the nachos, calling them the best in the world, which is a bold claim but they could be onto something. Jillian found the food and cocktails delightful, and Maria enjoyed the beef enchiladas enough to plan a return. Even L Bunney, after 35 years, was pleasantly surprised by this reincarnation of El Chico, saying it’s clean and not the tacky dive he remembers.
But let’s not ignore the occasional grumbles, as Romane had a moment where the food just didn’t hit right. Overall, it’s a solid spot to grab a bite or share cocktails with friends in a cozy atmosphere—if you ignore the odd lukewarm dish.
