The food slaps and hygiene is "Good" — not perfect, but nothing to worry about. Go for it.
The Old Barn is like that cozy sweater you never want to take off—familiar, comfortable, and kind of basic. The homemade cakes apparently steal the show, especially the carrot cake that one raving fan claims is ‘excellent’ while sipping on their brew. It’s a nice spot for a casual chat over a toasted teacake, if you can overlook the lack of visual appeal.
The staff are friendly enough, making you feel right at home, even if the decor leaves a bit to be desired. If you're in the Heysham area and looking for somewhere to grab a coffee and a cake, it’s a decent option, but don’t expect any culinary fireworks. 👩🍳🍰
