Clean. Reliable. Does the job.
The "lights out missionary" of food. Spotless kitchen, decent grub. Won't blow your mind, won't disappoint.
Gascoigne Arms is the village pub that’s trying to do it all, and it’s almost nailing it. With the gammon that could probably choke a horse and their Maypole Burger packing some serious juiciness, you’ll definitely leave with a full belly. The staff, led by the lovely Anne, seem to know how to keep things cheerful—like a family gathering where no one talks politics. Just good vibes and honest food.
Of course, it’s not Michelin-starred cuisine, but who cares? This place is solidly satisfying, has a cozy atmosphere, and the onion rings are crunchier than your ex’s excuses. If you need a spot to kick back and enjoy a hearty meal, this is a decent choice, but don’t go expecting the culinary equivalent of a blockbuster movie. It’s more like a feel-good indie flick—charming but not groundbreaking.
