🏠 The Canal Tea Room, Lime Kiln Cottage, Lime Kiln Road, EX16 4AQ
Tier Achieved:
Clean. Reliable. Does the job.
The "lights out missionary" of food. Spotless kitchen, decent grub. Won't blow your mind, won't disappoint.
Canal Tearoom and Garden is the type of place where you can grab a ham and cheese baguette and feel like royalty while doing it. The staff, including the ever-chipper Ian, are friendly enough to make you think they actually enjoy serving people. The garden setting by the canal is like a Pinterest board come to life, and the ice cream from Farmer Tom is a must if you want to indulge your sweet tooth after a stroll.
However, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows—Simon's chips left a bit to be desired, and service can be slow if you’re in line for an ice cream. But with gluten-free options and a kid-friendly vibe, it’s a solid spot, especially if you’re not looking for a Michelin-star experience. Just manage your expectations and enjoy the view while you wait for your tea to arrive. ☕️🌼
