🏠 Red Bear Hotel Low Street, LS25 6BG
Tier Achieved:
Clean. Reliable. Does the job.
The "lights out missionary" of food. Spotless kitchen, decent grub. Won't blow your mind, won't disappoint.
The Red Bear is a cozy village pub that’s been given a facelift without losing its unique charm. David Akast raves about the million-pound refurb that somehow managed to keep the character intact. It’s the kind of place where locals congregate, especially on a dreary Sunday afternoon, like Ang Macdonald, who enjoyed a lovely lunch with friends next to a roaring fire. The staff are highly praised, with reports of brilliant service that makes you feel at home.
However, not all is rosy in the bear’s lair. Lesleyanne Whittaker's family of eight had a fine meal, but Gail Grant found it to be “cheap and cheerful,” which isn’t exactly the rave we expect from a place that’s been lavished with cash. Still, if you want a decent pub experience with a warm atmosphere and solid food, The Red Bear isn’t going to let you down. Just remember, it’s not Michelin, but it’s as close as you’re going to get in Sherburn.
