The "lights out missionary" of food. Spotless kitchen, decent grub. Won't blow your mind, won't disappoint.
The Rose And Crown Inn is like that friend who’s really friendly but also a bit basic. You stop by for a pint and some standard pub grub, and while it does the job, you know there’s better out there. The riverside setting is nice enough, and the staff are apparently lovely, but when it comes to the food, it’s a mixed bag. Sure, the steaks are the highlight, but be prepared to navigate a menu that’s about as exciting as a PowerPoint presentation.
If you’re a fan of the 1980s style pub menu—think steak, steak pie, and fish and chips—you’re in luck. Just don’t expect a culinary adventure. If you’re wandering by on a sunny day, it’s a decent pit stop, but don't plan your meal around it. Overall, it exists but doesn’t leave a lasting impression, and I wouldn't be rushing back for seconds.
