Tier Achieved:
For the mildly adventurous. Non-zero chance of the π©s.
Great food, but the kitchen's had some "notes" from the inspector. Worth it? Probably. Pack Imodium just in case.
The Hightown Inn is like that unassuming friend who surprises you with a great time. You stroll in expecting just another pub and end up being treated to some of the best fish and chips youβve had in ages. The fishermen's pie? Absolute fire. The atmosphere is inviting, especially on a sunny day when the outdoor seating is in full swing. Plus, theyβre dog-friendly, which is always a win if youβre out with your furry companion.
However, donβt expect everything to go smoothly. The service can feel a bit off, with staff occasionally forgetting about you while they chat with regulars. But donβt let that deter you; the food shines bright enough to overshadow the service hiccups. This place is worth the visit for the food alone; just be prepared for some minor service faux pas.
"Both were absolutely delicious."
"Dog friendly. I went there with the boys on a few occasions."
"It was a beautiful venue."
