Paul's Pie And Mash is the place where dreams of comfort food go to be slightly disappointed. Sure, the pies are made to order, which might explain the wait time John Cochrane mentions, but let’s not kid ourselves—waiting for a pie shouldn't feel like waiting for a bus that may never arrive. Zena thinks the food is lovely, and while I appreciate a good pie, bushcorey! found the atmosphere as inviting as a brick wall.
Even the rave reviews can’t save it from the reality that some customers have had experiences so bad they’d rather chew on a piece of cardboard than come back. The food quality seems to swing wildly, and I wouldn’t gamble my lunch money on this spot unless you’re feeling particularly daring. Just be prepared to eat on the go or find yourself sitting on a curb. 🥧
