The "lights out missionary" of food. Spotless kitchen, decent grub. Won't blow your mind, won't disappoint.
My Old Place wins on authenticity with a side of nostalgia. Mushy and Momo felt like they were back in their school canteen, and the portions could take down a small army. The aubergine and sweet and sour pork had them raving. But not everyone felt the love; Eugene and Sam had their patience tested with slow service and pricier dishes that didn't deliver on flavor.
Sure, you might walk away feeling like a champion from a food coma, but make sure you’re mentally prepared for the service inconsistencies. It’s a solid stop for nostalgic eats, just be ready for a bit of a wait.
