Clean. Reliable. Does the job.
The "lights out missionary" of food. Spotless kitchen, decent grub. Won't blow your mind, won't disappoint.
Caffe Italia is a throwback to the classic coffee bar experience, where the walls are plastered with history and the coffee is strong enough to wake the dead. Hywel thinks it’s iconic, and honestly, I can’t help but agree. The atmosphere is bustling, and the coffee gets a thumbs up from those who appreciate a good flat white. Just watch out, the seating is tight—if you're tall, you might have to channel your inner contortionist.
The food is decent enough, but if you're after a culinary adventure, you might be left wanting. The service can be hit or miss, as some have had lovely interactions while others found it just okay. All in all, if you’re in the area and fancy a classic coffee experience, it ticks the boxes, but don’t expect your palate to be blown away.
"It drips with nostalgia from the cluttered wall-spaces."
"This place really deserves recognition."
"It's a beloved local institution."
