Clean. Reliable. Does the job.
The "lights out missionary" of food. Spotless kitchen, decent grub. Won't blow your mind, won't disappoint.
Koya-Ko seems to think it's a cutting-edge udon bar, but it's more like a kitchen that’s only half-trying. The self-service setup is efficient, but it feels like you're being asked to do half the work yourself for your meal. Sure, the saba udon and beef shin udon hit the nostalgia button if you’re into that, but don't expect a full-on flavor explosion. The karaage? Consistently good, but everything else needs to step up its game.
The atmosphere is nice, and they’ve got outdoor seating, but if you’re looking for complexity in your dishes, you might want to adjust your expectations. It’s a decent spot for a quick fix, but after sampling the food, you’ll likely be left feeling like you just settled for a quick bite instead of a proper culinary journey.
"Self service counter. Really efficient."
"I eat here regularly and it reminds me of home."
"Super awesome Japanese spot with soothy katsu curry."
