Tier Achieved:
Clean. Reliable. Does the job.
The "lights out missionary" of food. Spotless kitchen, decent grub. Won't blow your mind, won't disappoint.
The Ship Public House was once a Soho gem, but it seems to have lost its sparkle. Now it's like that old band you used to love that just released a boring new album. The atmosphere was once vibrant, but now it’s a dreary mix of uninspired decor and a menu that doesn’t quite deliver. Some guests came for a drink and felt the energy was lacking, while others were disappointed by the limited food options.
If you’re after a drink and a casual hangout, it’s still okay, but don't expect to be wowed. It might be a decent place to grab a pint, but don’t come here looking for a unique experience. What once made it special seems to have vanished, leaving behind just another generic pub.
"Really nice laid back pub. Really cool to see the variety of people that were welcome!"
"What really made the place for me was the barman. He really liked his music."
"The pub dates from the late 18th century and was originally called The Ship in Distress."
